By Katrina Wheeler

Of all the different careers that somebody can choose, nursing has become one of the most sought after career. The reason for this is the high demand of unfilled positions that hospitals, clinics and nursing homes have. The nursing schools in New Jersey are committed to help fill those empty positions by providing students with the best training possible.

There are many different types of nursing classes, and the classes someone chooses to take will depend on what type of nurse they want to become. They may have a goal of becoming certified nurse assistant, licensed vocational nurse or a registered nurse. The length of the classes will depend on what type of nurse someone is trying to become.

When a person wants to get a job as quickly as possible, the best class that they can take is to become a certified nursing assistant. It will only take them a matter of months for them to earn their certificate. Even thought he pay is not as good as some other nursing positions, many people are satisfied with this work.

Those pursuing a LVN career are usually more serious about their nursing career and chances are that they want to do this for the long haul. There are some classes out there that will take a person one year to complete, while others may take two years. The amount of pay that a LVN earns is much more than what a CNA earns. It is not uncommon for a LVN to earn more than double of what a CNA earns.

Those who really want to pursue an even higher paying nursing career will want to become a registered nurse. It will take a student about four years to earn their credentials to enter this field of work. A RN does not deal with the clinical aspect of as much as a LVN but enjoy a higher wage because of their expertise. They usually enjoy independence in most of their work, while a LVN is under the strict supervision of a RN or a doctor.

Some of the subject that a LVN will have to study will include biology and pharmacology. Part of the course will include hands on training with the direct supervision of a teacher. A certificate will be rewarded upon completion, and then a student will have to register for and pass their state exam to become licensed.

A RN will have to take the same subjects in their class as a LVN plus additional topics. These subjects may include chemistry, nutrition, behavioral sciences and many more. The ability to handle stressful situations is a must in order for someone to work as a RN.

The nursing schools in New Jersey will provide a student with all of the knowledge and skills that they need to succeed in the career of their choice. Their job is to teach, and the are professionals at what they do. Many of the teachers are nurses themselves and have had years working on the job that they are teaching. Their goal is to train their students in the best way possible to make sure that they succeed.
