Writing Effective Positive Daily Affirmations

By Dorothy J. Cowan

Daily affirmations can and will change your life if you use them effectively. I am not talking here about the weak old affirmations of "I am getting better and better each and every day." I am talking about those power affirmations that are targeted, specific and zone in on exactly what it is you want to achieve or change.Affirmations are one way to convince your subconscious mind that what you want or desire is already in your possession. Once you can do this the floodgates open and what you desire or the change that you are trying to bring into effect comes into your life.

Affirmations are powerful so you must remember to use your words carefully. Choose words that are in complete alignment with you and what you want, choose only positive phrases and affirm them in the here and now by using words such as "I am" and "I have".When trying to manifest your desires through affirmations and any other techniques consistency is the key ( just as it is with many other things in life.) Whatever we give our attention to is what we are drawing into our life. You need to consistently place your attention on that which you desire. Visualisation combined with positive affirmations is the key to getting what you want. See yourself as already having it, let your thoughts and feelings flow to enjoying the object or the experience.

Make Them In the Present Tense. You should state your positive daily affirmations in the present tense, that is, use "I am..." rather than "I will be..." Saying things in the present tense will program your subconscious mind to believe that what you affirm is already a fact. In other words, you have no doubt in your mind that what you desire is a given and not just a wish that may or may not happen,Make Affirmations Positive. Another important tip in formulating your affirmations is to write them in the positive state. A negative statement cannot work. For instance, you should say "I am rich" rather than "I am not poor".

Have you ever had a strange feeling in your gut that you just couldn't put into words? Or an uneasy feeling that something just is not right? This is your subconscious mind at work picking up on clues that your conscious mind didn't even notice. Many people have been able to save their lives by listening to their subconscious mind.

Your subconscious mind is always at work picking up new information and comparing it with what it already knows. It subconsciously plays these messages back to you, which in turn can have a huge effect on your behavior. It's your behavior that can have a big impact on the people around you and it also directly affects what you get out of life.

Follow Up With Actions. Lastly, you will also need to put in some actions, so that you can lay the ground for their manifestation. For instance, affirming that you will win the lottery can only be possible when you buy a ticket.Remind Yourself Daily. In a hurried lifestyle with 1001 things to do, you can find it hard to remember to repeating the positive daily affirmations. Hence, put them in a visible location, like on the wall or in front of the mirror or save them in a PowerPoint slide to be used as a screensaver.

Positive daily affirmations are a powerful way to reprogram your subconscious mind. They can replace negative and destructive thoughts with positive and happy ones. When you are continually repeating uplifting and positive messages to yourself, they begin to soak into your subconscious mind. After a while, your subconscious mind will begin to accept and believe these thoughts. When this happens, your conscious mind will begin to make good decisions that affect your life in a positive manner. Positive affirmations are not a magic bullet for a successful and happy life. But they can help influence your thought process and have a meaningful impact on your behavior.
