The Science Of Getting Rich

By Victoria W. Bergman

A proponent of the "New Thought" movement, influenced by the likes of Emerson, Hegel, and Plato, Wallace Wattles, unremarkable in all things but his dogged determination to succeed, published "The Science of Getting Rich" in 1910. Finally having found the way and illuminated the path for others to follow, he had likely fulfilled his life purpose, as he wrote "...for you can render to God and humanity no greater service than to make the most of yourself." Wallace departed this earth in 1911.

"The Science of Getting Rich" is not philosophy or speculative treatise - rather it is a practical, direct guide to forging a life of substance and achievement. Through consistent, deliberate action, in the way Wallace outlines, any individual can succeed and prosper. "It is a natural law that like causes always produce like effects; and, therefore, any man or woman who learns to do things in this certain way will infallibly get rich."

The Science of Getting Rich has been rediscovered relatively recently and has been at the forefront of the new popularity of Law of Attraction books.Wallace Wattles SOGR's author has a writing style that is very unique. He does not beat about the bush, which appeals to me very much. He writes almost as a lecturing college professor who will not tolerate dissent, rather than in the softer "warm and cuddly" style that you will get in law of attraction books that occupy the "New Age" section in the bookstores.

Man must form a clear and definite mental image of the things he wishes to have, to do, or to become; and he must hold this mental image in his thoughts, while being deeply grateful to the Supreme that all his desires are granted to him. The man who wishes to get rich must spend his leisure hours in contemplating his Vision, and in earnest thanksgiving that the reality is being given to him. Too much stress cannot be laid on the importance of frequent contemplation of the mental image, coupled with unwavering faith and devout gratitude. This is the process by which the impression is given to the Formless, and the creative forces set in motion.

The essential condition to achieving intentions is to believe with an unshakable faith that you create the reality you desire. You are the master of your destiny. With this faith ask largely then act. Action sets the conditions to receive. Give to everyone you encounter more than you take from them. Despite any outward appearances to the contrary maintain yourself in a constant state of thankfulness. In a state of deep and profound gratitude you enable unlimited supply to manifest in your reality. Do not judge or condemn, rather be grateful for all and in gratitude prosper.

The men and women who practice the foregoing instructions will certainly get rich; and the riches they receive will be in exact proportion to the definiteness of their vision, the fixity of their purpose, the steadiness of their faith, and the depth of their gratitude.I have read a lot of books on self help, success, and other topics related to personal growth. It wasn't until I read "The Science of Getting Rich" that all I had read really started to make sense. Although Rhonda Byrne, the author of "The Secret" says that "The Science of Getting Rich" is was one of the books she was influenced by, she missed some crucial points about what Wallace Wattles had to say.

It's not about thinking positive thoughts, and it doesn't matter if you are a positive person or a negative person. This book is about getting rich first. It's about following specific principles. It's not about dealing with your baggage or changing your mindset in a way that you become a more positive person. This is not a study of metaphysics, and you don't need to know how it works to make it work. It's like using a computer. You learn how to use a computer, but you don't have to know what hardware or software is in order to make it work. You also don't need to know the internal workings of a computer to learn how to operate your computer.

I will not hide the truth any longer. Getting rich is an exact science, and anyone who is aware of this science can accumulate all the riches they want. And it case you were wondering how you could learn this science, then there is a little green book and an audio program, which hold all the answers. The little green book I am referring to is "The Science of Getting Rich" by Wallace D. Wattles, which was written over a century ago. In this book the author presents the main principles of the Science of Getting Rich in an easy to follow and simplistic manner to the extent that one might wonder whether it could be that easy. Well, it is both easy and not easy. It is easy because all you have to do is to follow the steps outlined in the book. It is not easy exactly because it is not easy to follow outlined steps closely. So is there an easier way?

There is no easier way, but there is an audio program, which explains things in an easier and more inspiring way for the 21st century man. This is "The Science of Getting Rich Program" by Bob Proctor, in which he is aided by his colleagues Jack Canfield and Michael Beckwith. These three stars of the hit movie "The Secret" elaborate on the lessons presented in the movie regarding the Law of Attraction. In fact, they take the Law of Attraction to a completely new level and explain what one needs to do and why they need to do it. In the end, it does come out as an exact science.

Although reading the philosophy will help you understand how Wattles arrived at his conclusions, doing what the book tells you to do is the real secret to finding true riches in life.Wattles approaches riches from the point of view of the mind, body, and spirit. We must satisfy all three areas of our lives to enjoy the riches we attain. If any area of our lives is out of balance, it will affect our happiness and create obstacles to our enjoyment of life.I mentioned metaphysics earlier. Metaphysics is a branch of philosophy that examines the nature of reality. Wattles isn't concerned with this. Wattles is concerned with how the rules of the universe operate and how to use those rules to become rich.Whereas metaphysics deals with theories about reality, the rules of the universe have been tested and are a fact. This brings Wattles into the realm of science, with proven rules and processes that work. By applying these rules and processes to our lives, we achieve measurable results. If you don't take action, nothing will happen. Wattles says to read the book and do exactly what it tells you to do. Ultimately, this book becomes a blueprint for achieving what you want.
